Release Notes
This is one of the most famous goa compilations ever, probably due to the
fact that it was the first psi-trance compilation with the word "goa" in the
title and which would become a series. It came out in early 1995 and most
titles are in fact from 1994.
Album starts with the super hits "Waiting for a New Life" and "Wizard". The
first is my all time favourite and is probably the track which put Total
Eclipse on the map of trance. The second track by Slinky Wizard has that
unmistakable Simon Posford "hallucinogenic" sound. Another classic is
"Scarab" by Prana. This has some mind twisting sounds, typical of his Matsuri
label (now long defunct). Total Eclipse' "Far Beyond Speech" is another super
fav of mine. Though relatively short for a goa track (just 6 mins) this track
manages to build up very quickly. The worst track is "The Return Home" - it's
very minimalistic, more a progressive track with some psychedelic sounds. All
other tracks won't disappoint for sure, check out especially Moog's
"Euromotors" and the closing hard/psi-trance crossover "Exquisite Sin"
Distance to Goa Volume 1 is a sure classic that won't disappoint!
Thanks and greetz fly out 2 the ripper of -dh;) thanks for supply!!!

Release Notes
An interesting collection of tracks from a variety of sources. The first
CD seems to be taken completely from Order Odonata 2, Twisted, Boyd in
the Void and a Source Experience album, which Distance seem to have re-
licensed. Perhaps because of this the tracks all seem a little too
familiar. The second CD is a DJ mix by Xavier (Amsterdam) and it feels
much better. Some nice unusual tracks here.
Perhaps this album brings up the point that collections (particularly
big collections like this) have to RUN to keep up with the better-known
tracks becoming jaded. Distance To Goa 1 still has a special place in
the collection, and my friend liked the second one so much I never got
it back. But the third - it could be the last. Quality not quantity
please!
Thanks and greetz fly out 2 the ripper of -dh;) thanks for supply!!!
